Former CEO, Philips Capital
Karen Sørensen brings over 20 years of CEO and Senior Management experience in global healthcare businesses coupled with 11 years in consumer goods at Philips. Her proficiency extends across various facets, from R&D and finance to sales excellence, within highly complex and regulated industries.
During her tenure as CEO of Philips Capital, Ms Sørensen was responsible for overseeing the Customer as well as the Impact Finance activities at Philips. As a result, she possesses a thorough understanding of the Impact and NGO environment, encompassing aspects such as private-public partnerships, financing, regulatory/audit/risk management, and more.
Prior to joining Philips, Ms Sørensen held various positions at Sanofi with incremental responsibilities leading to a profit and loss (P&L) responsibility of a turnover of EUR 1.4 billion and management of 2,300 people. Earlier in her career, she worked for amongst others for Novo Nordisk, DAKO and Biogen.
Ms Sørensen comes with solid Board experience in private and public healthcare companies. She holds an MBA from INSEAD and a Master of Science Degree in Engineering from the Danish Technical University.
