He is the leader of Janssen’s <a href="http://www.jnj.com/our-news-center/ebola" target="_blank">Ebola vaccine development initiatives</a>. Dr. Van Hoof formerly represented the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers &amp; Associates on the board of Gavi. He acquired over 20 years of vaccine industry experience at Pasteur Mérieux Connaught, Chiron Vaccines, and GlaxoSmithKline Biologicals.  He has been actively involved in the development and licensing of new generations of childhood and adult vaccines for haemophilus Influenzae b, pertussis, meningitis, rotaviral diarrhea, hepatitis, flu, and HPV.</p> <p>In the 40 years since the discovery of the Ebola virus, 25 outbreaks have occurred.
