									<p class="p1"><span class="s1">“Three months ago we proudly introduced the electronic vaccine intelligence network (eVIN) system as a pilot project. It’s very useful because previously we didn’t know which cold chain centres were vacant of vaccines, so this system helps make sure vaccines get to these places where there are shortages. This will help us to provide sufficient immunisation for our nations pride, our children, and in time reduce the differences in vaccine availability and deprivation. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">“In 2015 in Bareilly we will receive pentavalent vaccine and IPV (inactivated polio vaccine). This is a very effective because that has been used in private sectors. Introducing it to government sectors will mean that instead of injecting infants three times with separate DTP (diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis), hepatitis B and <em>Haemophilus influenzae </em>type b vaccines, with pentavalent they only need one shot to protect them from these five diseases. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">“We have 23 cold chain centres serving a population of 4.4 million, so one cold chain point is serving 2 lakh (200,000) people. So before introducing pentavalent vaccine we need to strengthen our cold chain centres, by introducing a dedicated vaccine delivery van and create new cold chain centres so as to provide vaccines very efficiently. We are very excited about introducing pentavalent and IPV.”</span></p>
