“We’re a team of people from Uganda who have join this Global Task Force for Cholera Control meeting. A quarter of our population are not in a position to access clean water in the country. We still have the hotspots: we have the fishing community, we have the urban community and importantly we have the refugees – Uganda has an open door policy. We want to appeal to all the donors and all the stakeholders to come and support the country. We really need to see how we can try to implement the water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) project and the vaccine, especially for the refugee population, who are really vulnerable. We need to sustain the gains that we have made.”

Minister Moriku gave her perspective at the launch of Ending Cholera: A Global Roadmap to 2030 in October 2017.
