GAVI CEO Seth Berkley joins Jeffrey Sachs of The Earth Institute and actress Olivia Wilde at the 2013 Global Citizens Festival in Central Park, New York to support Sachs' campaign to train and deploy one million community health workers across sub-Saharan Africa “who will help deliver vaccines to keep people healthy”.

Over 60,000 attended the concert organised by Global Poverty Project

Other speakers included President Joyce Banda of Malawi, Bono, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon and USAID Administrator Raj Shah. The five-and-a-half hour concert featured musical performances by Alicia Keys, Stevie Wonder, Elvis Costello.

 

Dr Seth Berkley was CEO of Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance from 2011–2023.
